As my research develops lots of information is gathered and it can cause huge problems.
how can I catalogue information, process and expand upon it within a design environment?
I have used traditional methods such as sketchbooks, blogging, photography, mind maps – all visual methods to record and analyse my thinking and practice.
I have began to use “Knowledge swatches” A4 pieces of card and paste an image accompanied with some text and colour code them as different themes emerge. This method is updatable and adaptable – a theme present through out my research. I find it a creative way to catalogue my thinking within my workspace and the interchangeable element allows me to move the swatches around in accordance to my thinking. It’s also encouraged me to explore adaptable methods within my research framework.
